Spring Are You There?
Yes it’s been a cold, wet, and gloomy Winter in Seattle. According to mynorthwest.com “Through Feb. 6, total measured rainfall at SeaTac (where Seattle’s precipitation is measured) was almost an entire foot. The National Weather Service stated, “that’s the 3rd wettest start of any calendar year on record for the Seattle Area.” Yikes! Well I guess I can always wear a hat. Or buy an umbrella.
The rain is definitely not my favorite, but in the last week we’ve seen the sun for a total of say 2 days? Seriously though. I remember when I first moved to the PNW, everyone would ask me, “Dee, does it really rain as much as they say it does?”. The answer is YES! Yes, it does. I didn’t want to believe it myself or heck maybe I was in denial, but yes it rains here, ALOT. The sun makes its occasional appearances, for maybe 3 minutes in the day and than it’s back to gloom. I’ve lived on the West coast for almost 5 years. Have I gotten used to it? Somewhat. I still miss the sun. I miss the sun on cold ass days in New England. So when we get a random day and the sun is shining bright, you better believe we head outdoors for some Vitamin D. Let’s just hope the Winter doesn’t drag on until May, which is typical around here. Spring officially starts March 19th. So how many days til’ Spring? Meh, whose counting. Bring on SUMMER!
